Frame Ledge & Brace
These are the strongest gates we do, the frame in the title comes from the solid timber frame around the inner part. Its made with heavy duty redwood timber, and we use mortise and tenon joints in the traditional style. A lot of these gates that are mass produced use dowels to joint the timber. Not us!
Thats the type of joint we use. Six of them, all marked by hand and machined in the traditional way.

Why get a Frame Ledge & Brace gate?
If you use the door regularly, if its wider than normal, or its in a very exposed location, we recommend the FLB. Ledge & Brace gates are ideal for spaces up to 90cm (36") but over that you can run into problems with the gate dropping on one side. The FLB gates are still strong up to 200cm (78" wide).
We have made these gates for front doors too. They are strong enough and you can fit Yale type locks and mortise locks too. We've even done them with glass in, and stable type doors too.
